Myrica Jones

Myrica Jones is a contemporary British artist who produces figurative ink line drawings on paper inspired by themes of constraint, strength, gravity, escape and hope. These are complemented by works exploring the strength and strangeness of nature.  Myrica uses a simple line in a single colour to create a complex and three-dimensional sculptural form that has strength and feeling.

Myrica’s Black Yoga 4 won the Guest Selector’s Prize at the Oxford Arts Society’s Open Exhibition 2020.

The judges said: “This is an extraordinary piece: the way Myrica uses a simple line in a single colour to create a complex and three-dimensional form that has such strength and feeling is nothing short of amazing.”

Argave Parryi won the Guest Selector’s Prize at the Oxford Arts Society’s Members’ Exhibition 2022.
