Christopher Townsend

Christopher is a sculptor working, mainly in mild Steel. He creates work for inside and out. Christopher graduated from Liverpool University with a first class honours in Fine art and psychology in 1996, since then, he has been creating sculpture from his studio near Burford in Oxfordshire (the old Forge, OX18 4HJ)

Christopher has exhibited his work at the affordable art fairs in Hong Kong, Singapore,New York and London.

In 2019, he was lucky to be selected to appear on the BBC1 television programme ‘Home is where the art is’ hosted by Nick Knowles.  Following on from this in October 2023 christopher donated a memorial tree sculpture to the treetops hospice in Derbyshire which was featured in the DIY Sos, big build for children in need also hosted by Nick Knowles. 

Christopher’s work is inspired by many things in nature in particularly at the moment by the trees of the Wychwood forest, which surround his studio.
